  • Presented at Health Innovation Conference Tonmachi 2026

    The "Health Innovation Conference Tonomachi 2026," organized by the Innovation Policy Research Center and the Graduate School of Health Innovation at Kanagawa University of Human Services, was held on February 27–28, 2026. At Symposium 4 "Living Environment and Health," we presented the findings of this research project under the title "Toward a Home Where People Can Continue Living in Their Own Way, Even When Care Is Needed."

  • Presented our research progress at a MIRAI Project webinar

    We gave a presentation titled "Housing for ageing in place in super-aged societies" at the MIRAI Project Webinar Series: "Health and an Ageing Population." The MIRAI Project is a research consortium between Japan and Sweden. During the session, we received valuable comments from participants, including observations on the differences in regulations governing housing accessibility between Japan and Sweden.

  • Presented at the 19th WFOT Congress

    A poster presentation was given at the WFOT Congress (World Federation of Occupational Therapists Congress) held in Bangkok, Thailand, from February 9-12, 2026, by co-researcher Tomoyuki Ota, Researcher at the Hyogo Institute of Assistive Technology. The presentation title was "Consistency Reliability of Scoring Points of the Japanese Version of the Housing Enabler."

  • Opinion Exchange Meeting Held on 'Survey on Housing Accessibility'

    An opinion exchange meeting on the 'Survey on Housing Accessibility' was held on December 5, 2025, at the Dia Foundation for Research on Ageing Societies. The meeting was attended by six occupational therapists who had served as surveyors for the survey. Preliminary results were shared , and participants exchanged opinions regarding potential improvements to the survey.

  • Presented at the Gerontological Society of America 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting

    We conducted two poster presentation at the Gerontological Society of America 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting, held in Boston on November 13-15, 2025. The presentation was titled "Characteristics of Housing Adaptation Recipients Under Japan’s Long-Term Care Insurance: A Cluster Analysis," and "Annual Medical and Long-Term Care Expenditures Three Years After Home Adaptations for Older Adults With Care Needs."

    We conducted a poster presentation at the 20th Annual Conference of the Japan Society for Applied Gerontology, held in Sendai City on November 8-9, 2025. The presentation was titled "Validation of the Japanese Version of The Home Falls and Accidents Screening Tool (HOME FAST)."

    We conducted a poster presentation at the 84th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Public Health, held in Shizuoka City on October 29-31, 2025. The presentation was titled "Association Between Incident Location of Emergency Calls and On-Scene Time of Emergency Medical Services for Community-Dwelling Older Adults."

  • Survey on Housing Accessibility' Completed

    The 'Survey on Housing Accessibility,' conducted from August to October 2025 to verify the feasibility of housing accessibility assessment tool, has been completed. We sincerely thank all participants, surveyors, and others who contributed to this survey.

    We conducted a poster presentation at the 67th Annual Conference of the Japan Socio-Gerontological Society, held in Chiba Prefecture on June 28-29, 2025. The presentation was titled "Housing Adaptations in Long-Term Care Insurance and Prevention of Care Need Level Deterioration: A Retrospective Cohort Study."
